One in five children in the United States struggles with hunger. In most areas of the country, where childhood hunger is handled piecemeal by federal, state, and local governments and various nonprofits, no single entity is held accountable for hungry children and children at risk of hunger.
Across the United States, No Kid Hungry campaigns aim to address this gap with programs, platforms, and initiatives that connect kids in need with nutritious food, teach their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals, and engage the public to make ending childhood hunger a national priority.
This work is accomplished through the No Kid Hungry network, made up of private citizens, government officials, nonprofits, business leaders, and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities. These partners work together to develop and implement measureable plans to end childhood hunger and implement solutions that break down barriers keeping kids from healthy food.
Join Impact Hub members in learning about community-based partnerships ending hunger here in Boston and greater Massachusetts. Alicia McCabe, Massachusetts Director, No Kid Hungry will share how her organization’s groundbreaking programming helps parents and caregivers learn the cooking, budgeting, strategic shopping, nutrition information and decision-making food skills they need to guide their food choices and cook healthy, delicious meals.
