Storytelling with Data

February 18, 2015 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

About the workshop:

Does your work involve communicating data it to specific audiences – and do you sometimes fail to reach them? In this workshop, you will learn how to tell a story with data and how your data can support the story you tell.

Every decision in our modern world is based on data. That means that we are exposed to millions of data points each day which bears a massive challenge for our brains. In addition, there is growing evidence that people are more likely to take action after reading a story than after reading pure numbers. What does this mean for our communication tools? During the workshop, participants will learn how to develop their messaging, how to present their data more clearly and how data can tell a story on its own.

The whole workshop involves many practical exercises and aims at applying the workshop content to the participants work.

Each participant completing the training will:

– have learned basics of storytelling with data

– have understood how story affects people

– be able to construct their own story

– be able to apply storytelling with data at work
