The Next Big Thing in Design is Circular

May 18, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

First, let us share some good news with you, OpenIDEO Boston Chapter has received a grant from Ellen MacArthur Foundation for a Circular Design challenge with OpenIDEO. What is Circular Design? -> We added a brief introduction to the topic at the end of this event post.

Challenge Topic:

Have you ever wondered where the coffee lids from your coffee, straws from the refreshing cool drinks during the summer or tear off packaging from single serve packets end up? Did you know globally we recycle only 14% of our plastic? And by 2050 we will have more plastics in the oceans than fish?!

How can we fix this and stop small format plastics from leaking into our ecosystems? Wouldn’t it be great if we can design solutions for small format plastics to be reused? Re-Manufactured? or re-furbished? or used for cascading? So that recycling of plastics becomes the last resort.

Event Details:

Be a part of this challenge by attending our event on May 18th. The challenge will be launching on the 18th across the globe.
